White Oak Wood has a medium to coarse texture and is usually straight-grained. White oak has much more figure than red oak because its rays are longer. Although pre-boring is recommended, it machines well, nails, and screws nicely. It has a wide range of adhesive characteristics. The wood takes a long time to dry, but it stains well. White oak is a dense, strong wood with medium bending and crushing strength, moderate stiffness, and excellent steam bending properties.
